About the Program

Directing Foundation Course is a 12-session foundational course that introduces the core principles of film directing , from storytelling, camera movement, and editing to actor guidance, while integrating emerging AI technologies that are reshaping cinema today.

Throughout the program, students learn how to direct both traditional and AI-assisted scenes, culminating in the creation of a 2- 3 minute short film project combining real footage and AI-generated visuals.

Students learn cinematic language through timeless film examples while experimenting with modern tools like Runway ML, Midjourney, and generative sound design.

Hands-On Practice

Every class includes practical group exercises that lead to a finished short film.
You’ll plan, direct, and edit real scenes—combining live-action and AI-generated footage into your own creative vision.

Short Biography


Renowned Chinese director. Yue Shen is a member of the China Film Association, the China Film Directors' Guild, and the China TV Directors' Guidance Committee. In April 2015, he was elected as an overseas director of the China Cultural Promotion Association, recognized within the industry for his outstanding achievements and contributions in the film and television field. Yue Shen possesses profound strategic vision in both film and technology, dedicating himself to applying artificial intelligence technology in film production and promoting the deep integration of creative industries with cutting-edge technology.
